- The problem...
- 1 Water molecules, by physical property, are dipoles (negative and positive poles). The positive dipoles of water are attracted to the negative charges mainly caused by silicon, which is present in all building materials.
- 2 Because of this electric field, water rises, in its first phase, towards the foundations, then to the subfloor, and finally to the walls. During its ascent, the water transports the salts dissolved in the soil.
- 3 The ascent stops along the “potential 0” line, where the force of the electric field and the force of gravity are equal.
- 4 At this point, the water present in the walls evaporates. During evaporation, the salts recrystallize, increasing their size exponentially and breaking the walls.

The Qiblí device stops water rising from the subsoil within a few hours of installation. However, it is necessary to wait for the moisture present in the walls and floors to evaporate naturally. The drying time varies between 6 and 36 months, in the most extreme cases, from the date of installation. Factors such as the type of material, ventilation, and temperature have a direct influence. During this time, symptoms such as damp odors and thermal sensation tend to improve progressively.
